Spin - Tour de Fleece, Tour de France - Rest Day

Whew, today is a day of rest for le Tour. The announcers said yesterday during the race that the cyclists don't really like a rest day because it takes them out of the routine of the race. I'm sure their bodies need the rest after climbing those mountains the last two days.

I know I need a rest from spinning.

I decided to wash and set the twist on all of the yarns that I have spun during the tour and some that I spun prior to the tour.

Mountain of Batts.

I have also been working on replenishing my batts on Etsy. I have spent the last two days drum carding.

I have been working on a listing of Merino, BFL, Alpaca and Tussah called Raspberry Delight. Today I'm working on a simple blend of grey Shetland and grey Alpaca for the natural folks.

I need to feed the grey through the carder another couple of runs.

My shipment from the Sheep Shed Studio arrived today. I've heard lots of good things about their fibers. I thought I would try using some of the fibers in my Luscious Ditty Batts.
I love the blue.

I finished quilting on DS's basketball quilt. All I have left is to add the binding and it's complete. YEA!!!

We are still experiencing extremely hot and muggy weather here. Still longing for the North Pole.

Happy spinning.

Amazed as always by the beautiful yarns you create Phyllis. That blue is divine. You seem to have a very sure touch when mixing colours together too. Comes from experience I guess.

I agree about the supreme fitness of the tour cyclists. I couldn't go as fast downhill as they go uphill. Their leg muscles are amazing. I hate it when they all get in a tangle though.

I must compliment you on your lovely headers. You always come up with something wonderful. I hope things are fine when you get to Kentucky and that you get a respite from the humidity. We have had a nice week or so off from the very hot weather and lots of blessed rain...lovely.

Luv those natural colours Phyllis:) That's a whole lotta yarn you have there...what will you knit with it?
LOL...we are having the opposite weather...it's been really chilly and windy. The other day we had hail that looked like huge ice pellets!

Love the roving from Sheep Shed Studio. We looked at the map and saw that they're only 3 1/2 hours away from us .... hmmmmm.... sounds like a day trip to me!

So pretty, it is all so tempting, I may need something after the TDF is over.

I just finished up a ditty batt I was lucky enough to win in your blog contest. I will post about it soon. My next fiber order will definitely be from Sheep Shed, since the price is right and the quality seems to be very good as well! Can't wait to see what you turn yours into.
