SPIN, KNIT AND LIFE

Hello and welcome to my blog about nature, travel, cooking and my journey through life. I am just starting a new adventure in photography. I hope you enjoy my photographs.

Blog Changes

Most of you know that I have another blog, Spin Knit and Life Fibercrafts, that pertains to my adventures in spinning, weaving, knitting, and other textile/fiber/yarn hobbies.
I am in the process of moving my favorite fiber art links, pictures, etc. to that blog. So if you are looking for something on this blog and can't find it you might want to visit the other blog.

A Bit Of Cooking

Let's start the New Year out cooking. After DH retired and DS moved out on his own we decided that we wanted to have our main meal of the day at lunch time instead of dinner.  We both prefer a light meal in the evenings so that decision has worked well for us.
I decided on Salmon for today's meal and it just so happened that Allrecipes.com sent their newsletter out this morning with a Garlic Salmon recipe that looked and sounded delicious. Btw, for those of you with ipads they have an app for Allrecipes.  I rummaged around the kitchen and found all of the necessary ingredients.
The recipe was quick and easy.

 Going into the oven.

Coming out of the oven.

Add some mixed vegetable, a croissant and grapes and we are good to go.
Yummy, yes.
Enjoy life,
Phyllis

Looks yummy, Phyllis. I hope that once Joe retires he'll agree to main meal in the middle of the day. My body prefers to have a light meal at night, but he does not, right now. ::sigh:: The things we do for love...

That looks very tasty, Phyllis, and the main meal at lunch is a great idea. I've been trying to convince our back-at-home son to try eating less in the evenings, but he's a snacker--a hard habit to break.

Thaanks for the birthday wishes Phyllis :-)
That salmon does look yummy. Wish I liked salmon cause I know it is good for heart health. That must be why you have such a big heart!

I'm with Meg - I'd love to do like you do and have lunch as the main meal. The DH is 15 years away from retirement, sadly, and likes a sandwich for lunch. I have 15 years to plot and plan and scheme and collect recipes, I guess. :)

That salmon looks amazing! I've been craving seafood for weeks now. Also the combo looks great with the veggies and croissant.

Thank you for sharing!

About Me

My Photo
I love fiber crafts. I started knitting in 2000 and spinning in 2003.I love spinning on a wheel and a drop spindle. I have a fiber shop on Etsy that features my handspun yarns and Luscious Ditty batts. I have recently added weaving and photography to my agenda. I moved to Alabama in 1992. I live in Alabama but my heart belongs to Kentucky. I have just recently acquired an interest in weaving and love it. Let's see where that takes us.
